account & data deletion

How to request deletion
You can ask us to delete your prakriti account and the personal data held against it in two ways:
- In the app: open Consent & data rights from your profile and choose Delete — this files a deletion request against your account.
- By email: write to our Grievance Officer at the address below from the email or phone registered on your account, asking us to delete your account.
To be clear about what happens next: the in-app action files a request that a member of our team completes — your records are not erased the moment you tap. Some data is removed straight away; some must be handled under the retention rules below first. We confirm when the request is done.
What is deleted
When your request is completed, we delete the personal data we can erase, including:
- Your account and profile — name, phone number, email and preferred language.
- Your login identity, so the account can no longer be used to sign in.
- Your assessment answers and the health-story details you shared.
- Your daily logs, plans and progress history held in the app.
- Your chat with the wellness companion and documents you uploaded (for example photographed reports).
- Device and wearable data synced to your account from Health Connect (Android) or your device.
- Your consent and communication preferences.
What we keep, and why
Some records cannot be deleted immediately because the law requires us to keep them for a set period. We retain only the minimum needed, in restricted-access form, and erase it at the end of the required period:
- Consultation and clinical records created by a practitioner — kept for the period required under India’s medical-record rules and the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines.
- Transaction and invoice records — kept for the period required under tax and accounting law.
- Records needed to handle an active legal claim, grievance or regulatory obligation — kept for as long as that requires.
- Anonymised or aggregate data that no longer identifies you may be retained to run and improve the service.
Retained records are held under access controls, used only for the purpose they are kept for, and are not used to train AI models. The exact retention periods are being confirmed with counsel and will be stated here once settled.
How long it takes
We acknowledge your deletion request promptly and act on it within the timelines set by the DPDP Act. Data that can be erased is removed within that window; records we are required to keep (above) are erased at the end of their retention period. If anything delays your request, we tell you why.
